Chillicothe High School

Chillicothe High School is a public high school in Chillicothe, Ohio and Chillicothe City School District's only high school. The current high school on Yoctangee Parkway replaced the one built during the 1930s on Arch Street in 1967.

Activities

Athletics

The Chillicothe Caveliers are part of the Southeastern Ohio Athletic League.

Fall Sports: Football, Volleyball, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Golf, Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Cheerleading, and Marching band.

Winter Sports: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling, Boys Swimming, Girls Swimming, Boys Bowling, and Girls Bowling.

Spring Sports: Baseball, Softball, Boys Track, Girls Track, and Boys Tennis.^[1]

The Marching Cavaliers

Chillicothe's marching band, the Marching Cavaliers, plays at football games and at many of the school's pep rallies. The school also maintains a Drumline and a Flag Corps.^[2]

The Chillicothe Cavalier Orchestra

This is a full orchestra that includes brass instruments as well as percussion.

Latin Club

The school's Latin Club functions as a local chapter of both the Ohio Junior Classical League (OJCL)^[3] and National Junior Classical League (NJCL).^[4]

Notable Alumni

Garin Veris, 1981, former NFL player for the New England Patriots. On July 14,2011 Garin Veris Accepted the Athletic Director Position At his Alma Mater Chillicothe High School in Chillicothe, Ohio. He will also serve as the at-risk student coordinator -- a new position, at Chillicothe High School -- helping mostly high school juniors and seniors who are in danger of not graduating.
